Today I was worried because I wanted to give you or tell you something special, but I lacked the money for presents and the right words to express how important you are to me.
Suddenly, out of the blue, this thought from an ancient philosopher crossed my mind: “A friend is another me. He has to be honored like a God. Friendship is equal harmony” I know we are much more than friends (after all, friends don’t do the things we do so well when we’re together), but if we have such a great, pleasant and peaceful relationship, that’s because it is based on friendship, on the very essence of friendship. Above all, I’m a great friend of yours and I have in you my best friend. We don’t try to control each other, yet we care about one another. I know we don’t do anything or make any decision that might hurt the other one, and in doing so, I feel we honor each other. Whenever I have to make a decision that’s important for me or for my future, I also keep my other me (you) in mind and I also choose the option that will bring us both the best benefits. I know you also do the same and maybe this constant worry to search for equality, harmony or, as the philosopher put it “equal harmony”, together with the physical attraction we feel for each other is what they call love.
If that’s what it is, I honestly believe we love each other. Listen, I think I just found something special to tell you today, even if I say “I love you” every day. It’s not true, sweetheart.
